Applied Computer Science

Description of the field of study

The field offers a chance to gain and develop various types of knowledge and skills depending on the selected specialisation. 

Specialisations 

Computer Engineering (in English)

Studies in the field of Computer Engineering cover the analysis and modelling of complex IT systems, IT project management, advanced database and expert systems, mobile and distributed systems (including parallel processing), AI methods.

Software Engineering

Studying Software Engineering is related to agile software development, business and system analysis, designing complex IT systems, DevOps, programming in the cloud, security of web applications, carrying out research projects.

Information System Design

This specialisation allows the students to acquire knowledge and skills related to designing information systems, including multimedia, web and mobile systems, with a focus on data integration and exchange standards; designing interactions and user experience (UX), designing computer games, managing an IT project, computational intelligence and data analysis methods, as well as analytical methods and tools for business intelligence.

Applications of Specialist Information Technologies

Studies in this specialisation involve: designing, optimising, implementing and evaluating IT systems, including multimedia, web, mobile, embedded and IoT systems, developing embedded intelligence systems and interactive environments, including user experience (UX) models, models of computerisable processes, data stream processing and data exploration, modelling, analysing and optimising IT systems and networks. 

Enrolment conditions

Required degree: Engineer or Engineer MSc.
