Dr. Joanna Jureczko, Dr. Marek Zaradny, Dr. Robert Borowiec and Milena Andrzejewska, MA, are the winners of this year's Golden Pen plebiscite, organized by the student government at our Faculty. Congratulations!

The plebiscite is open to the academic staff of our Faculty. For several years, it has been organized by students engaged in the student government of the Faculty.

– We would like to thank you for the work you put into the tireless transfer of knowledge and appreciate our outstanding and charismatic academic staff from our Faculty – says Daria Błażejowska, vice-coordinator of the logistics section of the Student Government at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. – This year's plebiscite revolves around ancient Greece, the cradle of Western civilization, which laid the foundations for many fields of modern science. The categories reflect the characteristics of the Greek gods, so we chose the teachers who most resemble them.

The competition was for golden pens corresponding to four characters from Greek mythology:

• Athena – the goddess of wisdom, art and war tactics. The award is dedicated to a teacher who passionately talks about their subject. They explain complex concepts in an understandable way even to the most knowledge-resistant students.

• Dionysus – the god of wine, fun and joy, travelling in a cart drawn by lions or leopards, surrounded by bacchantes and fauns. The award goes to a teacher with a sense of humour, who, despite not having a retinue of wild cats, introduces a cheerful atmosphere and diversifies the classes with jokes and anecdotes from life.

• Prometheus – the titan who stole fire for mankind. The Prometeus pen will go to a teacher with an exceptionally warm approach to students. They patiently reply to e-mails, meticulously look for extra points in tests. First of all, they see students as also human beings.

• Zeus – the greatest of the Greek gods. The title of Zeus is given to the most popular teacher. Maybe their subject is not the most interesting. Maybe their tasks are not the easiest. Maybe not many understand what goes on in their lectures, but for some strange reason students like them. Black Horse. Wild card.

Voting lasted until 23 June, 2023. The winners of the Golden Pens 2023 are the following teachers from the Department of ICT and Telecommunications:

• Zeus: Dr. Joanna Jureczko

• Athena: Dr. Marek Zaradny

• Dionysus: Dr. Robert Borowiec

• Prometheus: Milena Andrzejewska, MA.

The awarded teachers received pens with a dedication. Congratulations!
