Cybersecurity

Description of the field of study

The studies provide education in the field of network security, IT and telecommunications systems, as well as data protection. We provide education in the following areas: the use of modern ICT tools (programming libraries, network equipment, communication protocols) in the design and integration of security systems, practical applications of tools and technologies related to the security and auditing of ICT networks in order to provide security to business entities and public institutions, operation of applications and electronic services on the Internet and in local networks, security solutions for ICT networks (including for wireless networks), designing intelligent ICT systems for protection against attacks, principles of operation of basic cryptographic tools for the safe virtualization of network functions,  managing operating systems and immunizing them to cyberattacks,  implementation of a comprehensive information security management system, legal regulations related to cybersecurity and to ensuring the protection of personal data, the functioning of the national cybersecurity system and international solutions in this area.

Employment perspectives 

Our graduates may be employed not only in companies from the IT sector, but also in financial institutions, in departments related to the security of ICT or banking systems. A wide selection of job offers may also be found in the military sector, in public administration or in the energy sector, especially for graduates of the Security in Energy Sector specialization.

 Graduates may be employed as:

IT security officer, administrator of data transmission systems, IT project manager, specialist in the implementation of secure networks and IT systems, IT security advisor, other workers in institutions related to information and communication technology (corporations, banks, industry, design and development centres in companies and public administration units).
