The wroclaw.pl city portal has once again announced the ranking of 30 creative Wrocław residents who succeed internationally owing to their talents and passions. Among this year's winners there is Wojciech Wodo, PhD from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, WUST. Congratulations!
The winners were selected from among the candidates submitted by the readers of the city portal. The prizes were awarded in the following categories: society/city, culture/art/design, science and business. This year's ranking also includes people associated with Wrocław University of Science and Technology. They are:
Wojciech Wodo, PhD, who works at the Department of Fundamentals of Computer Science, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. In his research work, he deals with cybersecurity, biometrics and electronic identity. He developed, among other things, a biometric keyboard that can recognize its owner based on the dynamics of typing.
In the years 2011-2017, he was a board member of the MANUS Foundation where, as the director of the entrepreneurship incubator, he was responsible for the development of academic entrepreneurship. He was also a consultant in the startup environment and he supervised fundraising for innovative projects.
In the years 2010-2012, he worked as a technology transfer specialist in the "Network Sunrise" project at the Wrocław Research Center EIT+, developing a social network between the university and the business and facilitating scientific cooperation with the industry.
Currently, he is a research and development manager at PayEye, which introduces the world's first payment system based on payment acceptance and user identification with the use of iris biometrics.
Dr Wodo believes that his greatest achievement, which has influenced his development, was to enter the prestigious Top 500 Innovators program held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, which gave him the opportunity to complete an internship at the University of California in Berkeley and in the Silicon Valley – in such areas as management, international cooperation, commercialization of scientific research and technology transfer. In 2015, he also did an internship there at the Haas School of Business, focusing on innovation management and entrepreneurship.

Zbigniew Żelazny, a graduate of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, an expert in the field of autonomous vehicles and electromobility, and a design engineer. Founder of the following companies: Orchid smart technologies, Wolne Meble and Wolne Domki, author of a book “How to construct a house up to 35 m².”
Tomasz Urbanowicz, a graduate of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, an architect, an artist creating glass architectural compositions. For almost thirty years, he has been running his own art studio, ARCHIGLASS.
