On Thursday, 6th June, the first edition of the WIT-KoN Conference of Student Research Clubs and Active Students was organised at our Faculty. Students from the Solvro and TK Games research clubs together with the W4 Student Government prepared four hours of lectures and a networking session.

The event was an occasion to talk to representatives of the Solvro, TK Games and Neuron student research clubs, BioMedical AI as well as of the W4 Student Government. During four hours of intensive lectures and activities, our Faculty's students had an opportunity to exchange their experiences. Additionally, during the "networking bingo” event, the conference participants could meet each other and exchange contact information.

The conference was attended by Prof. Andrzej Kucharski, dean of the Faculty, as well as by Prof. Paweł Wachel, vice-dean for student affairs. They both congratulated the students on the initiative and expressed hope for continuing the project in the future and organizing further editions of the conference.

The Solvro research club first introduced its activities. The group has been active since 2018 and currently has frontend, backend, mobile, machine learning, ui/ux design and devops sections. The next speakers at WIT-KoN were members of TK Games – a group involved in the development of computer and board games. During their talk, they presented the current projects and organisation of the club.

The conference was also attended by members of the Neuron club, which brings together supporters of neuroinformatics and artificial intelligence. Speakers from the Neuron club gave a speech about their projects and showed the equipment they work with. Participants could also learn how to read brain waves.

The BioMedical AI research club gathers people interested in artificial intelligence in the context of medical issues. The club connects experienced people who write their own scientific works and those who have less experience with AI. The club plans to launch a pilot course from scratch for people starting their adventure with artificial intelligence. The W4 Student Government organizes cultural events for students of our Faculty. At the WIT-KoN Conference, its representatives talked about the role of local government in student activity and education.

You can read more about the speakers in the report of the Solvro research club.

The conference organisers stress that our Faculty offers various forms of student activity. In addition to the Student Government, there are over twenty research clubs at the Faculty. Each of them deals with a different area of IT and telecommunications.
