Gold Medal at the European Rowing Championships for Our Student

Zuzanna Jasińska, a student at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, won a gold medal at the European Youth Rowing Championships at Hazewinkel, Belgium. She competed in the light weight double sculls competition.

zloty_medal_zuzanna_jasinska.jpgOur medallist studies in the third year of Technical Computer Science. She has been training rowing for eight years, and she started swimming in the first grade of middle school, when her friend took her to a rowing training.

– I liked it and started coming to further trainings. Last year I won a bronze medal at the Youth World Championships and a silver medal at the Youth European Championships. This year I also competed at the Senior European Championships, where I qualified sixth. I am also the current Polish Senior Champion – says Zuzanna Jasińska. – I would love to continue my sports career after graduation. My biggest dream is to take part in the Olympics – he adds.

At the championships in Hazewinkel, she competed in pair with Jessica Sobocińska (Posnania Poznań) and they won with time 7:11.53, considerably ahead of their rivals. The Italians came in second with time 7:16.36, and British third - 7:18.59. In total, Polish team won seven medals in Belgium – three gold, two silver and two bronze ones and ranked second in the medal table.

On a daily basis, our champion studies at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. She chose the field of Technical Computer Science, which allows her to combine her interests related to computer science, mathematics and technology.

– I haven't decided yet what exactly I would like to do after graduation. I think it will be a job in the field of my current specialization – IT systems in medicine – she admits.
