Our Researchers High in the TOP 2% Ranking

Six researchers from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology are listed in a very prestigious TOP 2% ranking of the most influential people of science in the world. Altogether, the ranking lists 44 researchers from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.

Prof. Przemysław Kazienko from the Department of Artificial Intelligence,
Prof. Ngoc Thanh Nguyen, chair of the Department of Applied Computer Science,
Prof. Krzysztof Walkowiak from the Department of Systems and Computer Networks,
Prof. Lech Madeyski from the Department of Applied Computer Science,
Prof. Sławomir Sujecki from the Department of ICT and Telecommunications.

The TOP 2% list comprises names of the researchers whose publications are most often quoted by other authors. The ranking is prepared by Stanford University analysts, the Elsevier publishing house and SciTech Strategies company. It is an evaluation of the entire research output according to the bibliometric index and taking into account such criteria as: the Hirsch index, the number of citations (including self-citations) or the position on the list of authors.

The list includes a total of almost 190 thousand names from all over the world, including 957 people working in Polish research centres. The Polish Academy of Sciences boasts the largest group of influential researchers (174). Wrocław University of Science and Technology is in the sixth position, as in the previous year, and it is third among Polish technical universities.

Compared to the previous year, the number of representatives of our University increased by 17 researchers.
