Prof. Halina Kwaśnicka from our Faculty received a special award at the conference "Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2022", during which the winners of the TOP of the TOP Women in AI competition were announced. Congratulations!
Our researcher was awarded the title of "Distinguished Mentor in AI" by the organizers for her contribution to educating generations of specialists in artificial intelligence.
Prof. Halina Kwaśnicka from the Department of Artificial Intelligence WIT is the scientific supervisor of the CJANT Artificial Intelligence Scientific Club and the author of the monograph titled Obliczenia ewolucyjne w sztucznej inteligencji (Evolutionary Computing in Artificial Intelligence) (1999). At our university, she lectures on artificial intelligence, evolutionary algorithms, expert systems and automatic knowledge acquisition.
In addition, the competition jury chaired by Aleksandra Przegalińska, a researcher from ALK/MIT/Harvard, selected 10 of the most outstanding women working with AI technology in Poland from among the previously nominated hundred candidates. The complete list can be found here:
The previously announced TOP-100 Women in AI list includes two researchers from Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Apart from Prof. Halina Kwaśnicka, they were Prof. Urszula Markowska-Kaczmar, also from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. They were both nominated in the AI Research category.
“Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2022" is the largest conference for women in technology in Europe, which took place on 7-8 June in Warsaw.
