The Lions of Wrocław University of Science and Technology have been awarded by the rectors since 2011. They are a special distinction for employees, regardless of their positions, who, use their work, commitment and ideas to make the University famoous and increase its prestige in the academic environment. The statuette bears resemblance to the symbol of the now Ukrainian city of Lviv (the “lion”) which was within the pre-WW2 borders of Poland and where many of the first professors of our today's University originally came from after the resettlements in 1945. The prize thus emphasizes the intellectual roots of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. So far, the award has been given to 34 people.

This year the statuette went to:

Tyll Krüger, PhD, university professor (Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, faounder and leader of the MOCOS Group), Prof. Wacław A. Sokalski (Faculty of Chemistry), Jarosław Krysiak, MSc, (Department of Postgraduate and E-learning Courses).

Congratulations!
