This year's edition of the Student Scholarship Program has just finished. The group of 23 awarded young researchers who showed outstanding achievements in their fields included nine representatives of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and among those a researcher from our Faculty – Kamil Kanclerz.
The Student Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Mayor of Wrocław and is run by the Wrocław Academic Centre. Applications submitted by doctoral students from Wrocław universities (in eight categories) are evaluated by committees including recognized authorities associated with the Wrocław scientific community. The amount of the scholarship is PLN 2,000 per month, and it is paid to the awarded students for a maximum of nine months.
Kamil Kanclerz The subject of his Ph.D. thesis is "Personalized techniques for identifying offensive content".
– I am interested in issues related to the processing and personalization of natural language – says Kamil Kanclerz. – In my research, I try to combine both of these fields to develop personalized content recognition techniques that take into account the user's context.
Kamil Kanclerz co-authored several articles published at international scientific conferences, including three published at the Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) – the most prestigious conference related to natural language processing.
The supervisor of Kamil Kanclerz is Maciej Piasecki, Ph.D., D.Sc., University Professor, and the assistant supervisor is Jan Kocoń, Ph.D. (both from our Faculty).
