Successful months
The year 2022 was very successful for Zuzanna Jasińska. First of all, our student, who represents the Pegaz Wrocław club, started in the lightweight singles category during the ENEA Polish Championships in Poznań in June and defended the gold medal won in 2021.
Her greatest success, however, was the start at the European Youth Rowing Championships held in September in Hazewinkel, Belgium. She competed in the lightweight double sculls competition with Jessica Sobocińska (Posnania Poznań) and together they won the gold medal.
Earlier, during the European Championships held in August in Munich, together with Katarzyna Wełna, they qualified for the final run in the lightweight doubles competition, to finally finish sixth [video].
In addition, during the World Cup competition in May in Belgrade, our student came third [video], also in tandem with Katarzyna Wełna.
The winner of our plebiscite comes from Wrocław and has been practicing rowing for over eight years. – I started in the first year of secondary school, when a friend took me to a rowing training. I liked it and started coming to further trainings – says our student.
Hard trainings gave results. I won a bronze medal already in 2021, at the Youth World Championships and a silver medal at the Youth European Championships.
Currently, Zuzanna Jasińska is training with the Polish national team in Portugal. There, she trains and fights to be in the national team for this year's world championships, which will be held in Belgrade in September. This competition will also be a qualification for next year's Olympic Games in Paris. – competing in the Olympics would be a dream come true for me, so I'm working very hard now to achieve that – she says.
At WUST, she is studying Technical Computer Science, which allows her to combine her interests related to computer science, mathematics and technology. – I still haven't decided what I will do when I finish studies, but I assume that it will be something related to IT systems in medicine – says the winner.
While Zuzanna Jasińska is now in Portugal, the award was received on her behalf by Dariusz Stefanowski, coach of the women's rowing section at the Physical Education and Sport Department, WUST.
