A group of early-career researchers from Wrocław Tech received awards in the Secundus competition. They represent 15 scientific disciplines and achieved the highest scores for publications. The best result in the field of information and communication technology was achieved by Dr. Jan Kocoń from our Faculty. Congratulations!

The competition was open to authors of articles published in 2025 in scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international scientific conferences, as well as scientific monographs.

Special distinctions and awards of 10,000 PLN went to fourteen researchers from first positions in the group awarded in a given scientific discipline. The remaining researchers received 5,000 PLN.

Our researcher focuses on the development of AI methods in natural language processing. “My research includes large language models (including PLLuM), new neural architectures, and ways of their adaptation and personalization,” says Dr. Jan Kocoń.

He is interested in creating models that better understand humans, the context of speech, and the subjective evaluation of the text (emotions). His works connect basic research with implementations in many R&D projects (including CLARIN-PL).
