ICT Seminar About the Quantum Computer

Date: 12.06.2025 Category: General

pozniak_sem-07.jpgThe next Information and Communication Technology discipline seminar already took place. It was held on Tuesday, 3rd June, and the topic was the construction of quantum computer infrastructure based on ion trap technology. It was the last ICT seminar in the academic year 2024/2025.

The June seminar was led by Prof. Krzysztof Poźniak from the Institute of Electronic Systems at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, Warsaw University of Technology. He delivered a lecture titled "Building the Infrastructure of a Quantum Computer Based on Ion Traps". Such a computer uses single ions as qubits, precisely controlling their quantum states by trapping them in a variable electromagnetic field.

pozniak_sem-12.jpgThe ICT seminars are organised most typically once a month, usually in room 41 of building C4. The next one will be organised in October, after the summer break. Once we have the date and some more details. we will let you know in the WITletter and on the Faculty's website calendar.
