Students from our Faculty took third place in the nationwide Capture the Flag competition, which marked the final of the Academy_CYBER.MIL project. Earlier, several hundred students from our university took part in computer science and cybersecurity training as part of the initiative. Congratulations!

The competition for students of technical universities was the culmination of the Ministry of National Defence’s Academy_CYBER.MIL project. The finals, held in Warsaw, brought together 17 teams from across the country.

Wrocław University of Science and Technology was represented by a team from the White Hats student research club:

• Michał Bernacki (captain; 3rd year Cybersecurity),
• Krzysztof Borówka (1st year Cybersecurity),
• Adrian Dyl (1st year of the MSc programme in Cybersecurity),
• Adrian Śliwa (3rd year Technical Computer Science),
• Wiktor Rojecki (3rd year Cybersecurity).

During the nearly eight-hour competition, participants had to solve almost 50 challenges covering topics such as cryptography, vulnerability analysis, digital forensics and application security. They had to find information confirming the correct solutions. The limited time and the need for quick decision-making reflected the real-world challenges faced by cybersecurity specialists.

The competition not only tested participants’ knowledge and skills but also created an opportunity for networking and exchanging experiences among young technology enthusiasts. Students saw first-hand how important teamwork, analytical thinking and creativity are in cybersecurity. An additional part of the competition took place at a shooting range.

The Academy_CYBER.MIL 2025/2026 project, organised by the Cybersecurity Department of the Ministry of National Defence in cooperation with the Expert Cybersecurity Training Centre, has been running since December 2025. A total of 650 students from Wrocław University of Science and Technology enrolled in the programme.

The project aims to promote the Polish Armed Forces and the organisational units of the Ministry of National Defence as attractive and innovative places to work, serve and build a professional career for experts in computer science and cybersecurity.
