Date: 28.10.2025 Category: General

dzialdostepnosci.jpgAt least 500 people with special needs, including those with certified disabilities, are currently studying and working at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Among them are students and employees of our Faculty. At the start of the new academic year, we offer a reminder about assistance provided to them.

All students and staff at Wrocław University of Science and Technology can access free and anonymous psychological help, also available in English. You can schedule a consultation by clicking on the links below:

Support from the leaders

Over 20 different units at WUST, including all faculties, have Accessibility Leaders – trained individuals who can provide support to all people with special needs at the university and to those who need more effective communication with people with special needs. You can contact our Faculty's Leaders by following this link.

In any matter related to persons with special needs, you can seek assistance from the Department of Accessibility. In the FAQ section, there are many answers to questions about people with special needs at our university. Interested individuals can also use textbooks on various aspects of working with such people.

Information for teachers

In accordance with the Regulations Governing Studies, persons with special needs have the right to use purpose-adapted educational process, teaching materials, credits, and exams, and the course instructor should receive the relevant information within the first four weeks of the classes.

During the first class of the semester or in the initial message to students, it's recommended to inform them of your openness to accommodating their specific needs and to ask for information on this matter. Considering special needs is not about lowering standards, but about levelling the playing field for other students.

We remind you that the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Accessibility is Prof. Katarzyna Jach.

On October 10th, our university launched the "Find your balance" campaign. One of its components is the distribution of informational leaflets (available for download at the bottom of the page), developed by psychologists from the Psychological Support and Mediation Department. This is a practical guide on how to respond in a crisis situation, created for the entire WUST community.
