The regatta: the most important trophies go to PMU and WUST

The main event of the Odra River Cup was, of course, the eights rowing races over a distance of one thousand metres. The contestants included men's, women's, and mixed crews representing a total of eight universities: Jagiellonian University, Maritime University of Szczecin, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, University of Wrocław, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Wrocław Medical University and Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

All the three categories (men, women, and mixed) were won by the representatives of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.

For the final leg of the regatta, the WUST and Wrocław University crews faced each other again in the racing challenge that has been a tradition between the two Wrocław universities for 25 years. The Wrocław University of Science and Technology Rector's Cup went to our University's team. The current result of the historic rivalry is therefore 23 to 2 for WUST.

Journey through the history of science

The biggest attraction for the youngest audience, however, was a student-prepared and run town for scientific experiments. This year, the central theme was the Time Machine.

Children and young people visited extraordinary places where science meets history, discovered groundbreaking findings, and solved tasks prepared by students. The participant who completed a task received a stamp on a special task card, which they could later exchange for rewards.

At the end of the event, hundreds of people enjoyed an Igo's concert on the University's boulevard. The artist is known for projects such as Clock Machine and Bass Astral x Igo. He performed with the Męskie Granie orchestra several times.

The Odra River Cup 2025 opens the calendar of events related to the 80th Wrocław University of Science and Technology anniversary.
