The 15th National Electromagnetic Compatibility Workshops have begun at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. For three days, the Wrocław Tech campus will serve as a meeting place for scientists, laboratory staff, company representatives and institutions associated with the EMC industry.

The event takes place from 1 to 3 July 2026 and for years has brought together the academic community with industry and research institutions. The workshops are organised by the staff of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory, the Department of ICT and Telecommunications and our Faculty. The event is also supported by the National Institute of Telecommunications – NRI and the Office of Electronic Communications.

– I think of electromagnetic compatibility as something similar to cybersecurity in computer science. It is an area that requires combining knowledge from many fields – from electrical engineering and physics to issues related to modern electronic systems. Another thing they have in common is that the less we hear about problems, the better the work has been done – said Prof. Kamil Staniec, Vice-Rector for Education at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. – Therefore, I welcome to Wrocław University of Science and Technology all those who do so much good for so many people.

As emphasised by the organisers, one of the most important goals of the event is to promote knowledge in the broadly understood field of electromagnetic compatibility and to exchange experience between the academic community, research institutions and industry.

This year's edition covers topics including the RED Directive, electromagnetic spectrum management, radiocommunication systems and the impact of electromagnetic fields. An important part of the programme is also cybersecurity, which is increasingly discussed in the context of modern electronic devices and systems.

– I am very pleased that you decided to come to another workshop devoted to electromagnetic compatibility. Increasingly, however, we are talking not only about compatibility, but more broadly about electromagnetic safety. It is a much broader concept, especially in the context of the development of modern technologies and the challenges that lie ahead of us in the coming years – emphasised Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski, Chairman of the EMC Workshops conference.

According to the organisers, the EMC Workshops are distinguished by their practical nature. In addition to presentations and discussion panels, the programme includes demonstrations of measurement techniques, comparative studies and classes using modern equipment. Participants can therefore not only expand their knowledge but also see how specific solutions perform in practice.

The conference is accompanied by exhibition stands from companies operating in the electronics, measurement and radiocommunication sectors. It is an opportunity to discover new technologies, talk to experts and exchange experiences with people working in science, laboratories, industry and public administration.
