We will actively support the implementation of the strategy by sharing the expertise of our researchers and the full research potential of the university, helping to build a modern and sustainable Wrocław – he adds.

Their responsibilities will include providing data and insights from their areas of expertise for monitoring, evaluation and recommendations, identifying emerging trends, challenges, opportunities and risks, as well as contributing to the review of strategic documents.

Wrocław 2050

The new development strategy for the city was adopted by the city council in October 2025. It outlines long-term directions for the capital of Lower Silesia in areas such as spatial planning, investment, education and climate protection.

Its implementation is based, among other things, on blue-green infrastructure, reducing car traffic in the city centre, expanding public transport and promoting sustainable mobility.

Each strategic objective is supported by specific indicators, monitored by the committee appointed by the Mayor of Wrocław. The committee also supports the implementation of the strategy at a city-wide level, ensures its coherence, and provides a platform for cooperation and knowledge exchange between different stakeholder groups.
