The twelfth episode of the “With the Rector About WUST” series is a summary of the WUST jubilee and a story about how the University has changed over the years. Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs hosted Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski, Head of the Department of ICT and Telecommunications and former Rector of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

Wrocław University of Science and Technology has always had its own vision of development. From the post-war reconstruction period, through the era of intensive industrialisation of the country, to the present day with new technologies, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, the University has consistently responded to the needs of its environment.

– However, it is important to remember that the strength of the University lies in its people; they were the ones who set the directions of change. The University has been fortunate to have remarkable people – says Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski in the 12th episode of the “With the Rector About WUST” series.

The conversation between the two rectors – the current Rector, Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs, and the former Rector, Prof. Tadeusz Więckowski – is both a jubilee summary of how our University has evolved and a reflection on the challenges that lie ahead.

It is a story of how, thanks to EU funding and the involvement of hundreds of people, the University’s campus was expanded. At the same time, it reveals why, in the 1970s, the exact placement of a radio in the rector’s office was of such importance.
