Between 14 and 18 September, Wrocław Tech will host CyberTron Academy 2026 – international cybersecurity competition involving students from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. This year's edition will be more than just a great final. Lectures, classes, and meetings organized as part of the event will be attended by students from Lower Silesian schools, a total of approximately 150 participants.

In this year's edition of the CyberTron competition, which has been taking place since 2022, we will enable young people not only to compete in the field of cyber security but also to participate in workshops or lectures preceding the finals. This international competition is a chance for young people to show not only their IT skills and knowledge of cybersecurity, but also their interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an international team.

The eliminations for this year's edition were held on 16 April. They were organized online in as many as 32 Lower Silesian schools, with nearly 400 students participating. For the first time we were the organizers.

The participants were confronted with a cybersecurity test, covering tasks of varying difficulty levels. Questions revolved around topics such as operating systems, computer networks, cryptography, algorithmics and general IT knowledge. This stage served to eliminate eleven winners.

Not only competition

What's new in this year's edition is an expanded program also tailored to CyberTron Academy guests. A total of 150 students and teachers from seven Lower Silesian schools will arrive in Wrocław:

• High School No. 1 in Milicz,
• Vocational High Schools in Brzeg Dolny,
• Technical Construction and Electronics School in Świdnica,
• Aviation Technial School in Wrocław,
• High School No. 2 in Świdnica,
• Vocational High Schools in Wołów,
• School of Entrepreneurship in Kłodzko.

The guests will be abel to participate in some of the lectures and classes. The programme includes lectures dedicated to classical cryptography, computations and quantum communication, as well as a presentation of the NEUVECTOR EDR tool. The organizers also plan workshops on modern authentication methods and quantum cryptography.

The participants will also have a chance to visit the server room of the Wroclaw Centre of Networking and Supercomputing, where they will see the supercomputers Bem and Lem, as well as the first quantum computer in Poland, Odra 5.

International CTF competition

The main part of the competition will start on 16 September. The participants will work in international teams in a CTF (Capture The Flag) game, during which they will solve tasks in the field of cybersecurity. The competition will last for three days, until 18 September.

After the game ends, mentors will present solutions to each task, and the whole event will conclude with the awarding of diplomas and prizes to the winning team.
CyberTron Academy is an opportunity to demonstrate not only IT-related knowledge but also cybersecurity skills. The formula of the competition also requires cooperation, communication, and working in an international team.

Last year the best team was composed of: Saskia Laura Machovičová (Slovakia), Dan Vašíček (Czech Republic) and Oliwia Płoch (Technical School No. 10) and Michał Hanak (High School No. 5 in Wrocław). They collected the highest number of points for their tasks.
