Many Future IT Specialists Visited Our Faculty!

Date: 16.04.2026 Categories: General

High school students from across the region, as well as from more distant parts of Poland, attended the Open Day at WIT. The event drew strong attendance, for which we are grateful. Prospective students were particularly interested in topics such as artificial intelligence, VR, game and application development, quantum computing and quantum AI.

Future IT specialists were welcomed by our researchers, students from the WIT Student Council and members of our research clubs. All activities took place across buildings C-1, C-16 (Technopolis), C-3 and D-2.

In building C-1, visitors were greeted by the Student Council, whose members guided them to programme stands and student research clubs. Members of KN Algo showcased one of their latest projects – AirLight, enabling the transmission of sound and signals via laser, accompanied by visualisations of the processes taking place “inside” the system. Meanwhile, the Student Development Studio presented a VR-based game developed by its members.

On the ground floor of C-1, visitors could also meet lecturers from the Information Technology in Automation Systems programme, as well as members of the Qubit research club, specialising in quantum computing. Upstairs, the programmes Technical Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence were presented, alongside related research clubs: Emognition, DaniE, Axion and Solvro, one of the strategic research clubs of Wrocław Tech. Visitors could learn about a wide range of AI applications, including quantum AI.

From 9:00, a lecture session was held in room 205 (C-1), covering topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, algorithmics and emerging technologies – from game design to AI applications in medicine and future systems.

Laboratory sessions took place in buildings C-3, D-2 and C-16 (Technopolis). Researchers prepared hands-on activities covering IT and telecommunications – from music and game technologies, through application development, to practical aspects of networks and systems.

Participants explored topics such as behaviour programming in games, rapid development tools, antenna and signal transmission technologies, as well as Wi-Fi configuration, network security and best practices in securing IT systems.

In Technopolis, prospective students could meet representatives of the following programmes: Algorithmic Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Systems Engineering. Students from research clubs White Hats and Neuron also presented their latest projects.

On the second floor, TK Games hosted lectures and workshops on game development – from fundamentals and the role of the designer, through games as an art form, to practical aspects of starting your own projects. Visitors could also take part in level design workshops using the Godot engine and explore more advanced topics such as machine learning in player analysis.

TRAF-BARAK presented projects in XR and AR, as well as biomedical signal analysis – including VR Classroom, HoloLens applications and an ECG framework. Meanwhile, Axion introduced participants to quantum artificial intelligence.

We would like to thank all students who visited us during the Open Day for their strong turnout. Special thanks also go to our students and researchers for presenting the Faculty’s offer and for answering the many questions from future WIT students.
