"Dark-Grey-Box Optimization – developing of the new class of highly effective optimizers" – this project by Prof. Michał Przewoźniczek from our Faculty received a grant of over 1 million PLN from the National Science Centre.

Gabriel Maik, a doctoral student from our Faculty, received the 1st Degree Distinction in the National Competition for the Best Master's Thesis – Master 4 Science 2022. Congratulations!

Doctoral students from WUST Doctoral School will soon go on internships to renowned universities and research centres around the world. The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology will be represented by three winners.

The rector appointed Prof. Kamil Staniec from our Faculty as vice-rector for education at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The professor starts his duties on 1 February. Congratulations!

The diploma thesis of Kamil Przeniosło, a graduate of our Faculty, was awarded in the national Young Masters Competition 2022. The awards were presented during the 27th ICT Forum.

Zbigniew Szpunar, Ph.D. was awarded the Golden Herald. It is an award granted by the Program Council of the ICT Forum for achievements in implementing the message of all editions of the ICT Forum.

Witold Kościukiewicz and Mateusz Wójcik, implementation doctoral students of our Faculty, received the first two awards (Best Poster Award and Runner-Up Best Poster Award) at the ML in PL conference in Warsaw.

The linguistic and IT team led by Prof. Maciej Piasecki from the Department of Artificial Intelligence received the distinction of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences for creating the plWordNet dictionary.

Mirka Gozdowska, head of the Faculty Office, won the second edition of the "W kółko kręcę" cycling competition. She was listed first in our University and second in the Wrocław-wide classification. Over two months, Mirka traveled 1517 km.

Researchers from the Department of Artificial Intelligence have been very successful in AI. Their four scientific articles have been accepted by NeurIPS 2022, one of the world's top machine learning conferences.
